Recording Your Own Demo CD 
for Bands, Auditions & Gifts

If you want to show off your talent and take it to the next level you might want to consider recording a demo CD that you can use to send off for auditions, band opening and musical productions. You may even just want to record a demo cd as part of a hobby, project or a gift for a loved one.

Singing is indeed a very rewarding career and if you believe you’ve got what it takes to sing professionally in a musical production or part of a band, you should gather the courage to put a demo CD together and send them out to start getting some work.
When recording a demo CD there are things that you need to consider;

• Song Choice  – During the recording, see to it that you have chosen the right song that is suitable for your voice and singing ability. Be sure that you’ve practiced and know the songs you are recording perfectly and without lyrics to avoid wasting time learning new materials during studio time that is paid for.

• Be Prepared – There is a big chance of repeating some phrases for about a hundred times literally and this can be very tiring so be ready for some long hours during the recording process. See to it also that your voice is in good condition before recording as it only waste time when your record with a bad or husky voice having to return later to get it right.

• Relax – Singing as if no one cares and no one is judging  is very important to easily express yourself in your songs. Also be yourself and use your own voice in your recording, try to avoid putting on accents or imitating other singers voices. Doing this ensures your audience can much more easily connect with you by the tone and emotion from your voice.

• Treat Your Voice – No matter how advanced a recording studio is, if your voice is under stress it’s not going to be helpful to the recording and will be both a waste of time and money. It is extremely important that you are breathing clean air while singing, also try to avoid too much smoking on the day before and the day of recording your demo CD. Another biggie is to always bring a bottle of water with you to your recording in case your throat dries up.
